ZLiving is a TV network in USA, offering original, high quality health and wellness TV shows and videos; bringing the best in health & wellness entertainment. Z Living is dedicated to telling compelling stories that motivate people to live a happier and healthier life.

ZLiving is broadcast to over millions of homes across the U.S.. ZLiving is carried on the following stations: AT&T (Channel 459/1459), Cablevision/Optimum (Channel 164), DISH Network (Channel 218), Verizon FiOs (Channel 162/662), RCN (Channel 226) RCN Lehigh Valley (Channel 202),  GCI (Channel 142), Buckeye (Channel 161) and Comcast (Chicago, Channel 389), Cincinnati Bell (Channel 636).  Z Living is also available on Roku and Sling TV.

ZLiving recognizes the value of its Healthy Living Entertainment linear business to Consumers and the potential opportunities that a ZLiving Marketplace can provide as an over-the-top (OTT) platform. ZLiving goal is to build the best Healthy Living Entertainment platform that has brand recognition with a strong position within this category.

One significant reason ZLiving needed a new platform is that current site does not compete among competitors like PopSugar.com, MindbodyGreen.com, Food Network and others. In order to take market share away from PopSugar.com, ZLiving need an OTT platform that delivers a consistent and unique user experience to serve content that is informative and enjoyable to assimilate.

Goals & Challenges

The goal of the ZLIVING Marketplace initiative was to deliver informative and entertaining content that ZLiving consumers need and want, whenever and wherever. Deliver timely content that connects to the Consumers at an emotional level. Invoke a strong emotional connection that compels the Consumer to return to ZLiving Marketplace as the primary destination for Healthy Living Entertainment. Serve content that Consumers did not realize they need or seek.

ZLiving team requires no development resource for Publishing and expiring of content. Implemented “Age-down” - degrade older content based on date and time of original post to the bottom of the page. RBT scaled up the performance using Redis Cache implementation.

Another element that was important to Zliving for their data capture was the newsletter sign-up form. RBT integrated the newsletter sign up form on the website with Zliving’s email marketing software. This form allowed for seamless capture and transfer of data, giving ZLiving the tools to segment, and make the most of their leads.

Result

The new website has enabled Zliving to cater to big traffic volumes and managed to get up to 99.95% uptime. The new site resulted in traffic soaring and driven better user engagement and time spent on the website.

The Zliving website was built on Kentico, providing improved user experience and has served to further strengthening the position of the client as the leader in Lifestyle and Entertainment.
